Originally conceptualized as a logo and name of a T-shirt brand (circa 2010), Willy Black, over the years, jumping from sketchbook to sketchbook and undergoing slight aesthetic tweaks, went from being a pair of eyes and a twisted smile to being what he is today, an author’s alter ego and the main character and the namesake of this comic strip. Taking inspiration from day-by-day, Guillermo Saldana captures humorous, sarcastic, meaningless, or enjoyable moments of life, exposing Willy Black to what is alien to none, the problem of existing.

Guillermo Saldana is a syndicated cartoonist and illustrator. He is the creator of “Willy Black, the comic strip” and “Palurdeando,” and a member of the National Cartoonist Society.
