David M. Hitch has been the conservativevoice for the Omaha World-Herald, The Worcester Telegram & Gazette,and The Worcester Sun in a cartooningcareer that has spanned over three decades.

As a junior in high school in Omaha,Nebraska, Hitch won the prestigious Hallmark Nomination, along with aScholastics National Gold Medal in Art, and also won recognition for his workin political cartooning, architectural design and writing. While in college atThe University of Nebraska at Omaha, and beyond, he was honored with TheNational Newspaper Association's “Best Original Cartoon” Award, as well asseveral Sigma Delta Chi and New England Associated Press Awards forillustration and editorial cartooning.

Married to CindyHitch, with four grown children, the Hitches have called Holden, Massachusettstheir home since 1988.

An award-winning cartoonist,David M. Hitch has been a conservative voice for newspapers for more than 30years.

The National Newspaper Association presentedhim with its Best Original Cartoon Award in 1987, and in 1989 he won an awardfor illustration in the New England Associated Press News ExecutivesAssociation Page Presentation Contest.

He also founded a commercial artstudio in 1986. In 1988 he self-syndicated a weekly editorial cartoonfeature, Stating Opinions,to a dozen Nebraska newspapers.

A native of Omaha, Neb.,Hitch won numerous regional and national awards for art, writing andarchitectural design while still in high school. He produced cartoons for TheGateway, the school newspaper for the University of Nebraska, where he was anart major. He twice won national honors for collegiate cartooning, as well as alocal Sigma Delta Chi Award in 1982.
