Who Is Dan Misdea?

Dan Misdea didn’t exactly take the straight-and-narrow road to becoming a cartoonist. Hailing from New Jersey, he earned a degree in Economics from Penn State and spent a few years crunching numbers in finance and accounting. But spreadsheets weren’t entirely cutting it. In 2020, Dan decided to follow his passion for cartooning, and we’re all better for it. Since then, his cartoons have earned him a Silver Reuben Award for Best Gag Cartoons in 2024 and plenty of well-deserved laughs from audiences around the globe.

Dan’s talents don’t stop at cartoons. He’s also the author of the Eisner-nominated children’s book The Light Inside and AB@C: And Other Gramograms (co-authored with Rob Meyerson). When Dan isn’t sketching out his next big idea, he’s likely golfing (badly), helping artists navigate taxes, or yelling at the Mets (we feel you, Dan).
