Get Your Comics Published on Comics Kingdom
Friends, we are so excited to introduce our official submission guidelines to Comics Kingdom!
You may have noticed that we now publish several new comics every year. We want to bring the best comics to our readers everywhere, and this is where YOU come in!
If you’ve got a comic up your sleeve, you can send a submission packet to us and we’ll consider your comic for inclusion on Comics Kingdom. All the instructions you need to get your submission ready are available on the submissions page.
What kind of comics are we looking for?
We’re looking for all sorts of comics! Your comic can be a strip, a single panel, a page format like a comic book, or a vertical scroll comic. It can be a disconnected gag a day with no recurring characters, or it can be a narrative epic or serial soap opera!
We are looking for comics that can run for at least a few years. If you have an idea for a traditional comic book of 24 pages or something else of a shorter length, Comics Kingdom is probably not right for you. But if you have enough ideas to last a few years, then we would love to see your submission.
Any subject matter is welcome, as long as it is legal in the US and all-ages friendly. We don’t take comics with extreme violence, graphic sexual situations, a lot of swear words, or anything that could be considered hate speech. If you have an action comic in mind, we recommend looking at The Phantom or Flash Gordon to see what sort of action-oriented or more violent scenes we publish.
Your ideas and art should be your own! Don’t just copy your favorite comic. Having a concept that is broadly similar to another comic is fine– for example, we publish Hagar the Horrible, Legend of Bill, and The Saga of Brann Bjornson which bear a passing resemblance to each other as far as setting, but all are very different in tone, character types, and art style.
When it comes to webcomics, you can aim for topics that would be of interest to a very broad audience, like parenting (see Beware of Toddler) or very specific, like NASCAR (see Gearhead Gertie) as long as there is an audience for it! If your comic’s topic is on the more specific side, sending us information about the size of the audience interested in the topic can help us decide if the comic is right for Comics Kingdom.
We are looking for high quality comics. Make sure your comic is neat and looks finished, with clean lines and clear text that is easy to read. You can send your submission in black and white or color. If it is in black and white, make sure to spot your blacks. You can also learn more about how to make your word balloons look nice here. If you are drawing your comic in ink on paper, please scan it in rather than taking photographs with your phone, which can distort the images.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to answer you!
Happy cartooning!
