1980s – Miss Blips

Miss Blips is Miss Buxley’s co-worker in General Halftrack’s office. In the Sunday page above, from 1984, she complains about the unequal distribution of labor but ends up harassing herself.

Blips made her debut in the strip in 1962 and introduced Miss Buxley to the General as her temporary replacement in 1971.

Over the years, the two secretaries have become close friends and co-conspirators. In a recent episode from 2020, Blips and Buxley join together to fight for their rights.

Blips and Buxley have very different personalities. Blips, who is not quite as attractive as Miss Buxley, likes to hear about her romantic adventures. She does not have a regular boyfriend but occasionally goes out on dates, as in this memorable sequence with Zero in 2018.

Perhaps someday Miss Blips will find the man of her dreams.
