Eighties – Cookies

Ditto is obsessed with cookies. He will go to any extreme – lying to his parents, missing his favorite TV show, waking up in the middle of the night – to get his fingers in the cookie jar. He has been confronted with his addiction and forced to admit it. But that doesn’t stop him.

Here are two classic cookie gags from 1967 and 1972.

When I was Ditto’s age, I had a reputation as a cookie thief. I remember searching for bags of cookies that my father would hide from me in the kitchen cupboards. I like to think that Ditto’s love of cookies was inspired by my own childhood obsession.

This long-running theme has continued through the years. In this Sunday page from 2011, Ditto again waxes poetically about his love for cookies.

I’m sure many of our readers also have a sweet tooth and can identify with these situations.
