1980s – Killer

Killer Diller is Beetle’s best friend. He was patterned after an army roommate Mort Walker had who thought he was God’s gift to women. He wasn’t especially handsome but he got what he wanted from the opposite sex by being very perseverant.

Killer continues to make frequent appearances in the strip. Although he has modified his behavior considerably over the years, he is still obsessed with women.

He often goes to town looking for dates but doesn’t always succeed. Here is a typical Sunday page from 2005.

In this episode from 2009, he is shown with a girlfriend but is distracted by the pretty females passing by. Killer’s “wiggling hat” is his most memorable trademark.
