Eighties – Collectibles

In the Sunday page above, published on August 20, 1989, Chip shows his marketing skills by selling some of the junk in the attic.

From 1997 to 2000, I was the editor of Collectors Showcase magazine. We did artlcles about all the major pop culture icons like G.I. Joe and Barbie. Trolls were a huge fad in the 1960s and a feature film The Trolls was produced in 2016.

Chip’s messy room is a recurring theme in the strip. It is, of course, cluttered with collectible figurines, comic books, posters and sports memorabilia.

Ditto, who is an avid baseball card collector, discovers in this 2015 Sunday page that his elderly neighbor, Mr. Wavering, has some valuable collectibles and antiques.
