Although most of the major holidays during the year – Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Thanksgiving – are not typically celebrated in Beetle Bailey, others like Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veteran’s Day should not be overlooked.
Christmas is often acknowledged on or around Dec. 25 with a “Seasons Greetings” from the cast and staff.
In the Sunday page above, from December 3, 2017, Lt. Fuzz is already getting ideas for his Christmas list. There is also a plug for the Toys for Tots program.
In 2009, two unique sequential Sunday pages appeared about Santa and his elves. To see these go to this previous post: https://www.comicskingdom.com/trending/blog/2015/12/24/santa-and-sarge
For the rest of this month, we will post a selection of classic Christmas strips from our archives so stay tooned.
