Timeline – 2011 Part 3

Here are the steps that went into producing this classic Hi and Lois Sunday page.

It starts wih my gag sketch.

Chance Browne began by doing some rough pencil drawings.

He then applied ink over the pencil lines.

He indicated the colors with the Pantone numbering system used by the production team at the syndicate.

Here is the finished page as it appeared in the newspaper.

Multipy that times 365 days per year and you get an idea how much work goes into the production of a syndicated comic strip.
