Timeline – 2011 Part 1
This propehtic Sunday page, in which General Halftrack remarks, “Yeah but flu isn’t funny,” was published in 2011, nine years before the current worldwide health crisis.
The CDC reported on its web site that, “In comparison to other seasons, the 2011-2012 season set a new record for the lowest and shortest peak of influenza-like illness. The season began late and was mild compared to most previous seasons for which surveillance data is available.”
The 2020 worldwilde pandemic has inspired some artists to produce some wildly creative face masks.
Matthias Kretschmer, who designed the masks above, is an artist from Austria. Many of these are based on the horror movies he watched when he was growing up. Others depict familiar cultural icons like Che Guevara and Frida Kahlo. He makes a new one every night and posts them on social media.

Next week we will continue to share memorable Sunday pages from our collection, so be sure to check back.
