FOOTBALL FANS FORGOT IT WAS GROUNDHOG DAY ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY (MONDAY MOCK NEWS)

It was an exciting Super Bowl Sunday this year for the Flagston family, but in-between all that cheering and munching during the game, they forgot about a special holiday: Groundhog Day. “What?” asked the Flagston’s eldest son Chip. “Wasn’t that a Bill Murray movie? How do we even celebrate that again? I haven’t even seen the movie, I just remember seeing the title while scrolling around our Netflix.” 

While this popular holiday predicts the weather (in its folklore), Super Bowl does mark the end of football season for the year. “I don’t even need to worry about their heads popping up into the kitchen because I know there will be no more football for a while,” says Lois Flagston. “And that means me and the girls get to keep the TV all to ourselves! I’ve been meaning to rewatch Jane The Virgin for the third time.”
