Hello Friends!
In today’s newsletter:
If you can’t see the video of the story, go to this link: “A Meat Valentine”
If you’d like to see an older story I did for a different story telling event, check out this link:
Since last September, I’ve been taking Storytelling and Stand Up Comedy classes. It’s been a rush!
Choose from CanineComics, CataComics, Kin-O-Comics and Hanukkomics!
Full color comic books, $9.99 a piece, make a great gift and are only available here!
NCSFest is a free cartooning festival open to the public with lots of artists coming from around the globe! (NCS stands for National Cartoonists Society.) I’m excited to be moderating a panel about collaboration with Zits and Baby Blues cartoonists Rick Kirkman, Jerry Scott, and Jim Borgman. They are pals of mine and great talents.
Wrapped up in that weekend is the awards banquet for the National Cartoonists Society, and I’m up for the big one. Fingers crossed, but it’s just nice to be nominated.
Kristin and I went to Nebraska to hang out with 100,000 Sand Hill Cranes. They stop along the Platte River in Kearney every year for a month to plump up before nesting in Canada and beyond.
I ink all my strips while listening to podcasts, and one hands-on one for folks who want to make a living in the creative industry is Judy Carter’s The Power of Purpose. I’m getting a lot from it.
As the sign says, never play dice with pigeons.
Thanks for tuning in!
Hilary
