Timeline – 2006 Part 4

By Jeremy Meltingtallow

Hi and Lois Sunday page digital proof, July 30, 2006.

In this charming Sunday page, Dot has written the backstory for a new holiday. Likely inspired by Disney’s “Little Mermaid,” she created a legend where the Great Mermaid brings presents to kids all over the world inside a giant whale.  This happens every year on the first Sunday of August.

There is a stretch of months between the spring and the fall when there are no gift-receiving opportunities for kids.  We thought it would be fun to invent “Aquafest” to fill this void.

Here is a list of all the major annual holidays.
