Drawing On Life Experiences

This comic strip of mine ran on our daughter’s wedding day.

Like most cartoonists, sometimes I draw on my life experiences when creating a comic strip. The above Barney Google and Snuffy Smith comic strip of mine is an example of such.  On July 21, 2018 our oldest daughter got married and many family members and friends were in attendance at the wedding and reception.  So, since Snuffy and Loweezy are like family to me, I thought they should be invited.  Unbeknownst to the rest of my family, I created this comic strip to commemorate the special day.  It was a big surprise to our daughter and her (now) husband when they opened the newspaper to the comics page and saw this comic strip on the morning of their wedding day.  Hopefully, it will soon be framed and hanging in their home as a memory of their special day!  Congratulations, Meredith and Cody!
