Hand Drawn Life: The History and Influence of Newspaper Comics

by Sandra Bell-Lundy

A few years ago I was interviewed for a documentary about the history and influence of the newspaper comic strip by Tom Tanquery and RC Harvey. Tom was very interested in the back story and my reasons for writing my Between Friends story lines about domestic abuse and infertility. He has interviewed quite an impressive line-up of cartoonists and historians…Jules Fieffer, Cathy Guisewite, Lynn Johnston, Bill Holbrook, Mort Walker, Darrin Bell, Jeff Keane, Lalo Alacaraz, Ray Billingsley, Wiley Miller, Andrew Farago and more. Tom now has a Kickstarter to raise funds for post-production and editing. Take a look at his trailer and consider donating if you’d like to have a copy.

Tom is an Emmy-award-winning photo journalist and has produced work for NBC news and Dateline to mention just a couple.
