Timeline – 1997 Part 1

In last week’s post we documented the original “Sarge Dreams” series that ran between 1964 and 1974.  Since that time we have revisited this theme on numerous occasions.  The episode above was inspired by some of the classic horror films of my youth.

The first panel is Beetle’s wishful version of “The Incredible Shrinking Man” from 1957.

The next image is a take-off on “The Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” from 1958.

Beetle’s monster was based on the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” from 1954.

The next scene is a spoof of a later film, “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” from 1978.

Finally we have a twist on the classic horror movie, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” from 1956.

The final panel is Sarge’s own nightmare.
