There are still leaves on the trees in New England, so we are extending our fall foliage series for a few more weeks.

Dik Browne would often translate an ordinary gag into an autumn scene and this Sunday page is a good example of that process. The storyline could have just as easily occurred in the spring or summer. Dik added color to the trees and leaves floating through the air to create a seasonal atmosphere. The dramatic perspective shots of Ditto on the roof help to establish a sense of danger to his predicament at the end.

Stay tooned for more examples from our favorite season.
