Last weekend, for the third year in a row, I was a guest cartoonist at the New River Community College Comic Con, in Dublin, VA (outside Roanoke). I drew sketches, signed books, gave a Snuffy Smith Chalk Talk presentation and met LOTS of wonderful fans of comics and comic art! It was a truly fun, event-filled weekend! Here are some photos from this year’s NRCC Comic Con:

Gary Bryant welcoming everyone to the NRCC Comic Con. This comic con was Gary’s idea and he he has been leading a team of terrific volunteers for the past three years to create a wonderful comic event in southwest Virginia.
Here I am getting a “selfie” with Joy Kiracofe Taylor, comic con photographer and member of the planning committee…and a super-nice lady!
The sign for my presentation posted on campus.
After my Snuffy Smith Chalk Talk, I took a photo with some young Snuffy Smith fans, the Pugh brothers of Marion, Virginia and their friend. They all had a fun day at the Con!
At my table drawing Snuffy Smith for Joel Pugh of Marion, Virginia and his sons. Joel grew up reading Snuffy Smith. He shared some great stories about his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all being big Snuffy Smith fans. And now, after the NRCC Comic Con, his sons are, too!
