The End of Summer

Although many students have already returned to school, most go back in the next two weeks. The final days of summer vacation mean different things to different people, as this Sunday page demonstrates.

Dot is a very studious young girl who does her homework on time, gets straight “A”s on her report card and actually looks forward to going back to school in the fall. Ditto doesn’t get as good grades as his sister and dreads the thought of being cooped up in a classroom again.

Ditto feels like his summer went by too fast and tries to cram as many last minute activities he can into the little time he has left. The panoramic scenes in the middle panels show him doing some of his favorite things. I’m sure many of our readers felt exactly the same way when they were his age and long for the carefree days of late summer.

Next week we will feature an episode about back-to-school shopping, so stay tooned.
