Hi and Lois Sunday page, August 12, 2007.
The conclusion of the 2007 summer vacation sequence, above, shows the Flagstons leaving Vagabond Ranch and recaps many of their memorable adventures from the previous week.
I attended the real Vagabond Ranch for two summers in 1965 and 1966. I recently discovered some photos at the current owners’ Facebook page.
Here is Cascade Mountain, which provides the scenic backdrop to the property in Granby, Colorado. I climbed to the summit of this 12, 264 foot peak when I was there.
Below is a group shot of the campers and staff from 1972.
Charlie and Lonnie Pavek, who were teachers at Rumsey Hall School in Washington, Connecticut, purchased the property in 1949 and ran the camp for 24 years.
Wranglers Cabin was where I stayed when I was a camper there.
We hope you have enjoyed the story behind this classic Hi and Lois episode from our archives.
