Today’s Hot Air Balloon Strip

Dear Rhymes With Orange Readers,
Yesterday afternoon I heard on the news about the tragic hot air balloon accident in Texas. I was saddened by the deaths of the people, and also alarmed that five weeks ago I had sent in a hot air balloon strip that was slated run today. I contacted my editors the second I heard the news to alert them. By that time, however, the newspaper comics section was already printed– there was no way to replace the strip. Also, the posting on the website is automated, so on a Saturday evening I couldn’t pull that either.
I am deeply sorry for the families of the those who lost loved ones, and also apologize to anyone who was upset by the timing of the strip.
