This week is Left-Hander’s Day! Last year, we celebrated by looking at art from our cartoonists drawn with their “wrong hand”— righties tried drawing with their left hand, and lefties with their right.
We had so much fun that we decided to reprise it this year. And here are this years’ entries!
My son likes the music of Joanna Newsom, and so he played me one of her videos. Then I drew this with my right hand (I am left handed).
–Isabella Bannerman, Six Chix
Text: “Here’s a left-handed Gwen from intelligent Life… I’m right-handed, so drawing with my left hand makes me feel like Bizarro David (Superman’s Bizarro, not Dan Piraro’s Bizarro!)”
— David Reddick, Intelligent Life
–Jim Borgman, Zits
I think it’s interesting that the drawing is much clearer than the handwriting. Then again, maybe that shouldn’t surprise me.
–Terri Libenson, The Pajama Diaries
Myself and my characters are left-handed, so for us the right is the wrong hand. 🙂
–Bill Holbrook, Kevin & Kell, On the Fastrack, & Safe Havens
–Bill Griffith, Zippy the Pinhead
I was out at the local surf beach and saw a grommit (newbie surfer) surfing goofy (left-footed).
–Alex Hallatt, Arctic Circle
–Rina Piccolo, Tina’s Groove and Six Chix
