Editor’s Dispatch: Two New Books from Bob Weber, Jr. and Slylock Fox!

By Tea Fougner

Bob Weber Junior of Slylock Fox and Comics For Kids has not one but TWO exciting new books coming out from Amazon TOMORROW.  They’re ranked in first and second place among upcoming puzzle books for kids– tough competition!  We’re very excited about these great new books available just in time for that summer road trip– so Bob joined us to talk a little bit about them!

Andrews McMeel Publishing is releasing “Slylock Fox Mystery Puzzles” and “Spot Six Differences.” The books are collections of many of my favorite puzzles from the “Slylock Fox and Comics For Kids” comic strip.

May favorite thing about these books is that the comic puzzles will reach a readership beyond the circulation of the 400 newspapers that “Slylock Fox and Comics For Kids” appears. It’s a terrific feeling to know that new readers will be discovering these comics for the first time!

I believe the books are appealing because they offer puzzle challenges that are presented with funny characters and humorous situations. The books are fun to read and fun to look at.

The advertised target readership for the books is 7-12, but from my exerience with reader response, I can say the puzzles are enjoyed by readers of all ages. I am convinced that its all-ages appeal is the reason “Slylock Fox and Comics For Kids” has grown and held its place in hundreds of newspapers for over 28 years.
