Greetings Comics Royals!
We hope you had a wonderful week! If you love cartoons and comics and if you’re near Washington, D.C. TODAY, you are welcome to join us at the Library of Congress for King Features’ FREE and open to the public panel discussion, “Cartooning and Our Culture,” which is featuring six of King Features’ immensely talented illustrators, including Patrick McDonnell (Mutts), Brian Walker (Hi and Lois), Jeff Keane (The Family Circus), Hilary Price (Rhymes with Orange), Ray Billingsley (Curtis), and Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist Mike Peters (Mother Goose & Grimm), in an honest and hsitoric chat on the history and impact of cartooning on pop culture. The event will take place at 11:00 am (EST) in the Montpelier Room of the Library of Congress’ Madison Building and is hosted by King Features in partnership with the National Cartoonists Society.
Good luck and best wishes to cartoonist Hilary Price who is nominated for The National Cartoonists Society’s Reuben Award, the cartooning profession’s highest honor, for “Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year,” as well as “Best Newspaper Comic Strip of the Year” for her top-notch work on “Rhymes With Orange.” The winners will be announced on Saturday night at the 69th Annual NCS Reuben Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.
