What Do Women Want? Writing Comics For A Female Audience
A reprise of one of our most popular panels of 2014! We’ve seen a million panels about “women working in comics”, but what about the women who read them, and targeting women as a consumer base? How does the Female Gaze apply vs. the Male Gaze, what is the power of female fandom in the industry? In this engaging discussion led by Chromatic Press’ Editor Lianne Sentar, journalist Sam Maggs (Fangirl’s Guide To The Galaxy) and comics creators Sandra Bell-Lundy (Between Friends),  Brenden Fletcher (Gotham Academy, Batgirl), Svetlana Chmakova (Awkward), and Sydney Padua (Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace & Babbage) explore what female audiences are looking for, and how creators and publishers can target them with their work.
