World Spay Day is an annual campaign of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), Humane Society International and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. On the last Tuesday of every February, the HSUS shines a spotlight on spay/neuter as a way to save the lives of companion animals, community (feral and stray) cats, and street dogs who might otherwise be put down in shelters or killed on the street. In honor of World Spay Day, Tuesday’s Top Ten Comics features a collection of pet-related comics on the importance of spaying and neutering.
1. The characters in “Mutts” attract attention to a worthy cause — World Spay Day!
2. Breaking news! It is World Spay Day!
3. “Spay and neuter your pets” takes on a whole new meaning when Jeremy tries to use his Mom as an alarm clock …
4. Grimmy of “Mother Goose and Grimm” faints at the sight of a needle.
5. Mooch of “Mutts” is fluent in multiple languages …
6. A dog walks into a bar in “Rhymes With Orange” and walks out with a new name …
7. Ralph of “Mother Goose and Grimm” learns the difference between being “neutral” and “neutered” …
8. Mooch in “Mutts” discovers that there’s a card for everything, but tech-savvy pet owners want to know if there is an app for that?
9. Mother knows best, and Grimmy in this “Mother Goose and Grimm” comic refuses to go quietly!
10. Finally, Grimmy of “Mother Goose and Grimm” takes a walk on the bright side of comparing himself to others.
