Recently I received two pretty cool gifts I thought I’d share with you in my blog post this week. The first was the above photo illustration created by our daughter, Sarah! Sarah is a Graphic Design major at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and several months ago she asked me for a drawing of Snuffy (with his arms crossed and looking down) for a class project. I didn’t really think anything of it and then, for my birthday this year, she surprised me with this bodacious piece of art! I was floored! I am amazed at her talent and have the framed version hanging on my studio wall. We are so proud of her!

I am bodaciously blessed to have many wonderful fans of the Barney Google and Snuffy Smith comic strip. Recently, two fans combined their talents and created this one-of-a-kind set of Snuffy and Lukey dog tags for me! One fan, Timothy Fisher, found an old newspaper plate featuring part of a Barney Google and Snuffy Smith comic strip on it. He sent this to another Snuffy fan, Mary Rouse, who creates jewelry. Mary and I went to college together and were in several of the same art classes. We also serve on a local board, the Arts Council Of The Valley together. Mary used the plate and created these silver dog tags for me! Wow! Aren’t they amazing?!! Bodacious thanks to Timothy and Mary for creating these for me–I will always treasure them!
I am so truly blessed to have such wonderful family members, friends and Snuffy fans in my life!
