While everyone is getting ready to ring in the New Year, 2015 is an extra-special one for King Features. We turn ONE HUNDRED years old this year. It’s time to celebrate comics both new and old!
To kick off the year right, The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at OSU launched an exciting show celebrating the history of King Features with a special event last month! The show was curated by our very own Brian Walker of Hi & Lois fame. It’s open until March 15, and you can read more about it here: King of The Comics: 100 Years of King Features History.
Here’s a picture of Brian with King Feature Editor, Brendan Burford, at the show:
On December 13, we had a fantastic opening reception paired with a day of exciting comics-related events featuring a bunch of our favorite King Features cartoonists, and everyone had a blast.
Here are some pictures of the exhibit:
It’s chock full of comics, new and old, and lots of cool bits of comics history, toys, and paraphrnalia. Be sure to check it out if you have an opportunity!
This is just the beginning of an exciting year to come for King Features, and we hope you’ll celebrate along with us. Watch this space for more exciting news about our centennial year!
