Editor’s Dispatch: Celebrating with Hi & Lois
This Saturday, October 18, marked a very special anniversary for one of the funny pages’ most beloved families as Hi & Lois turned 60!
Brian Walker wrote a special look back at the strip over on the Hi & Lois blog. You can read it here.
Hi & Lois began in 1954 as a collaboration between Mort Walker and Dik Browne. Today, the comic has passed into the hands of the next generation, with Greg and Brian Walker, and Chance Browne. The Stamford Advocate talked to both generations of Walkers about how the strip has been influenced by their family life: Hi & Lois began when Greg was 4 and Brian was 2.
For our part, we’ve put together a collection of the decade-defining moments of Hi & Lois!
1950s
1960s

Congratulations to all, and we look forward to many more years with the Flagstons!
