I have mentioned in this Bodacious Blog before that I really enjoy comic strip crossovers! In fact, I have even shown a few. In the last six months or so Snuffy Smith has been involved in a few of these crossovers. I’ll share some of those with you today and let you know that even more are coming up later in October and November! What fun!
In 2013, my good friend Guy Gilchrist, cartoonist for the Nancy comic strip, featured Snuffy in a Nancy strip. I returned the favor by featuring Nancy in the above comic strip in March of this year.
What cartoonist hasn’t been influenced by the great Charles Schulz?! I paid homage to this amazing cartoonist by featuring Woodstock in my Barney Google and Snuffy Smith comic strip in June, 2014. After this ran, I was honored when the original art was requested by Jean Schulz (Charles Schulz’s widow) to go in the collection of the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California.
On October 1, 2014, Guy once again included my pal Snuffy on the comics page Nancy is reading in the Nancy comic strip. Guy is such an incredible talent!
One of my favorite new comic strips is Intelligent Life by the talented David Reddick. Imagine my surprise when I saw this comic strip of his recently. Snuffy at a Comic Convention–it was bodacious!
