News Around the Kingdom: A Warm Welcome to Marvin and Dennis the Menace

by The King

Greetings and salutations Comics Kingdom readers!

Please allow us to extend a warm welcome to two of our loyal subjects, who are now kings of their own digital castles! Both, Marvin and Dennis the Menace have gone viral in their shenanighans and have launched brand new websites this week!

Time flies when you are having fun! “Between Friends” is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in syndication next week, and Sandra Bell Lundy takes a look back at the past two decades.

In Arctic Circle, Alex Hallett shares several tibbits from her chapter on creating comic strips in Walter Foster’s new book, “The Art of Cartooning & Illustration.”

Virginia is for lovers, and John Rose proves it by hosting a Valentine’s Day book signing for comics lovers! He will be signing copies of his first “Barney Google and Snuffy Smith” comic strip collection, “The Bodacious Best of Snuffy Smith” this Friday, February 14th from 9 am to 1 pm in Harrisburg, Va.

In “Victors and Spoils,” Dan Piraro ponders the medal potential of several unlikely Olympians, including Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster and Waldo.

In “Let the Games Begin,” Brian Walker shares a throwback Olympic “Hi & Lois” strip and tells readers to keep an eye out for an upcoming “Hi and Lois” Sunday page that references the current Olympic games.

We have a winner in the GUESS THE NAME contest at Tinkersons.com!

Finally, in celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Week, Olive Oyl interviewed Renee Heitmann of Single Girl Cookies, who is spreading kindness with fresh baked cookies.

See you next Friday!
