The Art of Cartooning & Illustration: Creating a Comic Strip

The Art of Cartooning & Illustration has been published by Walter Foster and I got my copy this week. It looks great – my chapter on creating comic strips is beautifully laid out and there are other sections on character development, lettering, editorial, caricatures and everything the aspiring cartoonist might want to learn more on.

In my chapter, I create a new comic strip featuring a girl and an alien.

I go through some of the do’s and don’ts of comic strips.

And I detail how I process my strips from scanning them into the computer to sending them off to the syndicate.

I’m really happy how it looks in print, particularly all the screenshots.
