Our Daughter’s Art Project

By Jeremy Meltingtallow

Our youngest daughter is a freshman in college and for one of her art classes she had to create a piece of art in the style of artist, David Hockney. Hockney, an important contributor to the Pop art movement of the 1960s, is an English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer.
I was surprised and honored that our daughter chose me at my drawing table, working on a Snuffy Smith daily strip, as the subject of her piece. I know I am biased, because she is my daughter, but I feel it is a really terrific composition, full of lots of interesting angles. I thought I’d share her finished artwork with you. It also gives you an interesting peak inside my studio…

If you’re not familiar with the art of David Hockney, here is one of his pieces:

I hope our daughter’s college professor gives her an A!
