Our Month of Mandrake Celebration Continues! Fan Poll #2!

Last week we ran a poll to decide the DailyINK community’s choice for “Favorite Mandrake Villain.” We’re excited to announce that the winner, with over half the vote, was The Cobra/Luciphor.

Today, in our Mandrake Fan Poll #2, we turn our attention to the opposite of Mandrake’s villains: his friends and allies.

MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN is the greatest crime fighting master magician, but in a world populated with crime making wizards and supervillians, he needs all the help he can get. So in today’s poll we’re offering a few of Mandrake’s greatest friends and allies to see who’s is the DailyINK community’s choice for “Favorite Mandrake Friend or Ally.” His most memorable friends and allies are listed below.

LOTHAR–(first seen in the daily story The Cobra 11 June- 24 November 1934)

African tribal King and onetime champion wrestler of the world, Lothar’s incredible strength has proved invaluable.

NARDA– (first seen in the daily story The Hawk 26 November 1934 to 23 February 1935)

The beautiful Princess of the small European province of Cockaigne, she inspired Mandrake’s love and many rescues over the years, finally marrying Mandrake in 1997.

MAGNON– (first seen in the Sunday story Miss Galaxy Contest 18 November 1956 – 9 June 1957)

Incredible King of a million planets, and one of the most powerful men in the universe.

POLICE CHIEF BRADLEY– (first seen in daily story Sonny 4 April to 14 May 1938)

Hardly ever known as anything but “The Chief,” often starts amazing stories by inviting Mandrake to take part in a case received through the “S.S.” (Silly Stuff) department.

THERON– (first seen in the daily story Derek, 27 December 1948 to 23 April 1949)

The grand master of the College of Magic, the mysterious secret university for master magicians where Mandrake learned his craft.
