Bizarro is brought to you today by Ancient Chinese Wisdom.
Today’s cartoon is a collaboration with my known associate, Wayno of Pittsburgh. We used an old cartoon of mine with this same setup, but I changed the characters so you wouldn’t get bored. I figured why draw a computer screen and keyboard again? Drawing computers is as dull as the finish on a 1972 Buick.
If I don’t get my finances in order soon, I may launch a Kickstarter campaign for my retirement. I figure I’ll only need a few million dollars to retire in the style to which I would like to become accustomed. Will you help?
Wayno’s blog post today shows the old comic I used to create this one and has some other dandy things to say about all of this. Look at it here if you dare.
OLD BIZNESS: Cave bizness from 2006, to be exact. I don’t have the kind of mind or personality that can work in an office for a typical business. I’d almost rather live in poverty on my own terms than go to work someplace I don’t want to be. I know this about myself because I had “regular” jobs for well over a decade in my twenties and early thirties. Part of that time I was doing Bizarro at nights and on weekends after working a 40-hour week at an advertising illustration studio, waiting for Bizarro to make enough money to support myself, my wife, and two kids. I did it because I had to but I hope I never have to again. I suppose that describes billions of people all over the world so I am fully aware of how lucky I am to have escaped it at all.
