Happy Canada Day!

Happy 146th Canada Day!  Yes, I am a proud Canadian.  The above photo is from a trip I took a few years ago with my mother and my daughter.  I drove to Newfoundland as part of a research mission but also to take my mom to visit relatives and to give my daughter the opportunity to visit the little village of Harbour le Cou where my mother grew up.  Why am I posting this particular photo? (taken in North Sydney, Nova Scotia before we crossed the Gulf to get to Port aux Basques, NL)  It’s full of Canadian-esque signage:  A Maritime-inspired McLobster sandwich at McDonalds…a Petro Canada gas station…and in between the Petro Canada sign and the Mediterranean Salad sign you can see Wendy’s.  What you can’t see is the Tim Horton’s that is connected.  How much more Canadian can you get?
