Here’s an interesting bit of behind-the-pickle trivia about this cartoon: The banjo player is a caricature of my friend and colleague, Matt Diffee, famed cartoonist of The New Yorker and editor of The New Yorker Rejection Collection series. He’s a fellow Texan from back in the day and a dern fine banjo player. A few years ago,I had the pleasure of performing one of my songs at one of the variety shows he used to put on in Brooklyn, and he accompanied me (and my guitar) on banjo. Not only can that boy pick but he’s a damn fine fellow.

Matt recently escaped NYC and moved to LA, as well, so now we can torture Southern Californians with our dulcet tones.Stay tuned for tour dates.
