Grim Undies

In my 938-year career as a cartoonist, I’ve done quite a few dry cleaner jokes. I would never have guessed this was a topic I would gravitate to, but it has so many fun elements to it that I keep going back to the well.

My favorite kinds of gags are the ones where you have to put the puzzle together in your head a bit to get the joke. Dry cleaners are perfect for this because you can lead the reader down a road based on the customer, the clothing, and the comments by the counter help. The readers puts the clues together and chuckle over their cleverness. Below are a couple of my favorites from days gone by.
