I just had this flash of when I first found out there was a Trivial Pursuit question about Baby Blues. My niece sent me the card from the game that came up while she and her future husband were playing with some friends. It was such a shock to me. I used to love playing Trivial Pursuit, so finding out something I was involved in had made it into the game gave me a feeling of “arriving.”
I’m a trivia person. I won’t say “trivia buff” or “trivia expert” because those imply things you might aspire to or practice. In my case, it just seems to be something that happens to me: the accumulation of trivia. I don’t do it on purpose, or make any effort to do it at all.
My wife contends that all the trivia clogging up my brain is probably the reason for me forgetting my wallet, or phone numbers or birthdays or any number of other things most people keep in their heads.
So here, for all you trivia afficianados, is a short list of some trivia you can add to your store of little known facts, if you become the owner of a copy of BBXX:
What was Baby Blues called before it was Baby Blues?
Where is there a giant Baby Blues comic on display for women in labor?
Why is there one Baby Blues strip that only ran in the Los Angeles Times?
Who rejected Baby Blues on the back of a telephone message slip?
When was Baby Blues almost sidelined by an errant baseball?
Find out the answers. Knock your anniversary date out of your brain…or your Social Security number.
It’ll be worth it.
Promise.
