Jim Borgman and Jerry Scott, the guys behind the comic strip Zits, just came out with a collection of their favorite Zits Sunday strips. What’s cool is that they pitched the question, “What are your earliest memories of the Sunday Funnies?’ to many different cartoonists, and then scattered their answers throughout the book. Here’s mine:
“My earliest memories of the Sunday funnies involved Silly Putty. I smushed it on the comics page, peeled it off, then the characters became mine to bend and stretch how I pleased. In terms of the modern technological quest for an ‘interactive experience between media and audience,’ I got mine from inside a plastic egg.”
I would love to hear yours!
