Bizarro is brought to you today by Inspiration!
For years, fans have been sending me cartoon ideas. The vast majority of them are puns, and to be honest (which I always am with you, my beloved blog reader) most of them are pretty awful. But every now and then I get a pretty good, original pun. So a couple of years ago (or 6 months, or a decade, I have a terrible sense of time) I decided to start this series, “Bizarro’s Sunday Punnies,” which are my cartoon interpretations on the pun ideas of readers.
Here is the 17th installment (wow, has it been that long? Seems like just yesterday I drew the first one!) (No, come to think of it, that was a doodle I did on a napkin at a local tavern and it actually was last night) and I hope you enjoy it.
If you’d like to see one of your own original puns in a future installment of Bizarro’s Sunday Punnies (Oh, Lord, is he making another parenthetical comment?!) follow the rules below and take your chances. You could have the chance to win this!
1. Your pun must be, to the best of your knowledge, your own idea. Or that of a family member. If it appeared anywhere in print or the Interwebs before, please don’t submit it. I’m too pretty to go to jail.
2. Leave your pun in the comments section of this blog, or email it to me. You can find my email address on Bizarro.com if you’re at all persistent.
3. Keep in mind that your pun idea will not be posted in the comments. Only I will see it. I don’t want to ruin the joke for future readers if I choose it, nor embarrass you if it is really awful. Rest assured, one or both of my own personal eyes will read it.
4. Tell me how you’d like to be credited if I choose your pun. Examples for John Doe: J.D., John D., J. Doe, John Doe, Queen Jody Doe, anonymous, Mr. Twinkles, the Situation2.
That’s all there is to it. Join me here in the coming days for more blogging fun and cartoons. Your health care provider will thank you.
