Nate Fakes

About

First, let’s get this out of the way: Yes, this is his last name.

Seriously.

Okay, moving on…

Nate Fakes sold his first drawing in 5th grade for five bucks. Ever since then, he knew he wanted to be a cartoonist.
His love for cartooning, illustration, and animation expanded as he grew older.

While attending Wright State University, he was an editorial intern at MAD Magazine in New York City. He wrote and drew comics for MAD for over a decade. It warped his mind, for sure.

Since then, he’s been in The New York Times, Parade Magazine, major greeting card companies, and many other publications.

His work brought him to the L.A. area, where he worked in-house at a major agency as a cartoonist for Red Bull ads.

Now, he’s venturing into graphic memoirs and graphic novels. His first graphic memoir, A Fade of Light, was recently published by West Margin Press/Turner Publishing.

He’s also a member of the National Cartoonists Society.

He has a wife, a daughter, and two fluffy cats. Plus, a pantry with donuts.

FUN FACT: Nate also appeared (and won) on Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. Yes, he’s a sucker for game shows.
