George Gant

About

From an early age, George Gant knew he wanted to draw cartoons. He spent his elementary
school days drawing in class and his high school days drawing editorial cartoons for his school’s
newspaper. These editorial cartoons won several city-wide awards.

As a young adult, George rediscovered his passion for cartooning with the advent of
webcomics. Influenced by popular comic strips and cartoons of the early 2000s, George
launched his first webcomics in 2006 and 2008 and rebooted his earliest comic in 2015.

In 2019, while playing a game of hide-and-seek with his two-year-old daughter, George hid in a
closet. His toddler wasted no time in finding him. George found the experience so funny that he
drew a comic about it. This comic ended up becoming the first Beware of Toddler comic strip.
Since then, Beware of Toddler has been nominated for a Ringo Award, a Webtoon Canvas
Award, and five Glyph Comics Awards, winning two.

In 2020, George became the artist for the Beano comic strip Angel Face Investigates, being one
of the few American cartoonists to illustrate for the primarily English magazine. A year later,
Beware of Toddler’s first book, ToddlerHood! A Beware of Toddler Collection was successfully
funded on Kickstarter and was released in mid-2022, one month before Beware of Toddler
joined King Features and Comics Kingdom.

George resides in Chicago, Illinois, with his wife and two children
