We're starting a new series that will go back to the early years of the strip. I have acquired the use of a large format scanner that will accommodate the 10" x 14" color proofs that King Features used to send us.
The Sunday page above is the second Beetle Bailey Sunday page from September 21, 1952.
To see the first Sunday page, as well as the brochure announcing its debut and the story behind that event, go to these previous posts:
This episode is a typical gag in which Beetle causes havoc wherever he goes. During a visit to the USO, he steps on a lady's dress, rips a pool table, hits another lady with a dart and helps himself to a stack of donuts. He just can't stay out of trouble. In the end, he's back where he belongs – driving Sarge crazy.
We have many more of these classic early Sunday pages to share so be sure to stay tooned.
