Hello, Royal Readers,
Last week, we shared the wonderful Sunday drop panel posted by SALLY FORTH artist Jim Keefe that launched a special series coming to the comic on July 2. The new mini arc sent the Forth family on a road trip to Tanaka Kaiju Theme Park. Check it out on the site. Meanwhile, Animé News Network caught wind of the storyline and did an email interview with writer Francesco Marciuliano and Jim Keefe. Be sure to read it to find out what inspired them to create the series, their status as fans of animé, and what it’s like to put Japanese pop culture references into a mainstream American comic strip.
ON THE FASTRACK cartoonist Bill Holbrook has been busier than ever behind the scenes. He has just launched a YouTube channel and announced the first in a series of videos starring Dethany! She’ll be answering readers’ questions in the videos that will be posted at the beginning of every month. Bill is inviting readers to send their questions to him at bholbrook1@gmail.com and to subscribe to his Bill Holbrook YouTube Channel.
SNUFFY SMITH cartoonist John Rose celebrates Independence Day with fun comics from this and previous years.

In the final 1965 episode in his ongoing Timeline series, Brian Walker looks back at a Sunday page showcasing the visual humor that is such an integral part of the BEETLE BAILEY comic strip. A diving contest at Camp Swampy? You already know it can only end in total chaos.
Check it out!
Meanwhile, over in the final Part 4 of his HI AND LOIS Timeline series for 1965, Brian takes a look at Thirsty — short for Thurston — Hi’s next-door neighbor
and friend. He is everything Hi is not, making him the perfect foil with all his foibles. Check it out here.
And finally, in his BIZARRO blog, Dan Piraro keeps the punches coming on the political front and sets readers straight on what several of his cartoons are actually about. Funny, funny stuff! Check it out for sure!
Thanks for catching up on this week’s News Around the Kingdom.
