Ask A Cartoonist: Spring has Sprung!

Each Spring finds Zippy in the same seasonal dilemma.
Japanese pencil kit? Or Spring rain?
Why not both?

 

Isabella Bannerman, Six Chix:

I am looking forward to being at the MoCCa Fest this year – definitely at the NCS table, and probably only on Sunday. 
The other event I have coming up is my local River Arts Studio Tour, presented by the Rivertowns Arts Council.
I will be in the James Harmon Community Center, along with 8 other local artists, at 44 Main St. Hastings on Hudson NY, from 11 – 5 on Sat. April 22, and April 23.

And I have to confess, that what I am looking forward to in the Spring is the weather getting warmer, so I can get away from my desk a bit more!

Dethany has an interesting relationship with Spring, having some big plans for it in the future.

 

Alex Hallatt, Arctic Circle:

Spring means getting back in the garden. I only have a balcony right now, but I’ll be planting lettuce and other greens, as well as a few herbs. I’ll be trying stevia for the first time. It is a natural sweetener and its leaves are massively sweeter than sucrose (normal sugar).

 

John Rose, Barney Google and Snuffy Smith:

 

For me, Spring is a time of getting out and doing Snuffy Smith Chalk Talk presentations and meeting readers of the Snuffy Smith comic strip! I have three of these presentations lined up this Spring. First, I will have a chalk talk at The Highland County Public Library in Monterey, VA at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 23rd. If you have questions, email mail@highlandlibrary.com. Next, I will have two chalk talks at The LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, TN as part of Wilderness Wildlife Week. The first talk, geared for general audiences, will be on Friday, May 12th at 1:00 pm. All three of these events are free and open to the public. Come if you can!
