News Around The Kingdom: Vintage Madness Returns!

by The King

Greetings Comics Royals!

Since we had fun doing our first bracket-style competition, Vintage Madness, we decided to bring it back! Over the next four weeks, eight comics will go head to head, panel to panel in an epic battle to be the last vintage comic standing! The comic with the most votes will be added to Vintage Comics line-up. The Vintage Comics section is accessible to Royal members only, but any user can access the Vintage archives for free with a seven-day trial subscription. If you are interested in taking part in Vintage Madness, view the full list of vintage comic contenders and vote for your top 8 favorites here.

Remember to follow the “Ask the Archivist” blog every Thursday for the latest Vintage Madness action, updates and standings.

In other news …

Jim O’Keefe and Francesco Marciuliano play a Charade game over at SallyForth.com, plus they were recently interviewed by Tom Racine of Tall Tale Radio.

Brian Walker shares the first week of “Beetle Bailey” from Mort Walker’s private archives.

Sandra Bell Lundy (“Between Friends”) will be attending Toronto ComicCon this weekend.

Dan Piraro (“Bizarro”) discusses how one idea leads to another.

Brian Walker and Dot in this “Hi & Lois” Sunday comic question whether Mother Nature has checked her calendar lately.

Finally, yesterday was National Spinach Day and no one was happier about it than Popeye!

Thanks for catching up on this week’s News Around the Kingdom. Join us again next week and don’t forget to cast your vote for Vintage Madness!

See you again next Friday!
