Back to School!!
The beginning of school can be an exciting time – at least until the novelty wears off. Many students look forward to meeting their teachers for the first time, making new friends and finding out which classes they are in. After a few days, they settle in to the predictable routine of classroom lectures, homework assignments, labs, quizzes, reports, tests and all the other challenges of day-to-day life in an educational institution.
Chip Flagston is not at the top of his high school class, but he’s a good student. His parents often talk about his college prospects, which is about two years in the future. In this Sunday page from 2004, Chip is uncharacteristically positive about his first week of school. Hi’s prediction in the last panel is based on years of parental experience.

We hope all of readers who are students, or parents of students, had a good beginning to their academic year. Only nine more months to summer vacation!
