Dan Piraro & Wayno: 15 Years of Comical Collaboration

It’s a story right out of a comic book: the Bizarro cartoonists remember their first meeting with a mix of humor and nostalgia. It wasn’t just a meeting of minds but of hearts, too, setting off a partnership full of creativity, laughter, and the kind of friendship that only comes from drawing together.

Editor’s Dispatch: Happy 100th Birthday, Charles Schulz!

Hi, all! I hope you are recovering from your Thanksgiving feasts if you celebrate! Today, Saturday, November 26, is a very important day for comics history: the 100th birthday of Charles “Sparky” Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, one of the most beloved comic strips of all time. Usually, we only post about birthdays related to King Features comics, but Mr. Schulz was such an inspiration and good friend to so many of our cartoonists and had so much influence on the direction of not just comics but pop culture in the 20th century that we wanted to celebrate his legacy. Patrick McDonnell, the creator of MUTTS, spearheaded this project in collaboration with the Charles M. Schulz Museum to celebrate this special birthday! As you look around Comics Kingdom today, you will see many of cartoonists have contributed to this celebration by honoring Mr. Schulz in their comic strips. Here is a collection where you can see them all together! Todd the Dinoaur by Patrick Roberts Crankshaft by Tom Batiuk and Dan Davis Rhymes With Orange by Hilary Price & Rina PIccolo The Lockhorns by Bunny Hoest and John Reiner Daddy […]

    Bizarro Caption Contest

Update: THE DEADLINE FOR THIS CONTEST HAS PASSED. Let me know if you’d like us to do another one sometime! SEE THIS BLOG POST FOR THE WINNERS AND RUNNERS-UP. Hey, Jazz Pickles! I’ve not done a caption contest in over 12 decades so I thought maybe it was time. Below is an old Bizarro cartoon of mine for which I invite you to come up with a new caption. The winner will be chosen by Olive Oyl, the K2s, and I and will be announced on my weekly blog post this coming Sunday, Oct 7. We won’t choose any entry that is similar to my original caption, so don’t get any ideas about being all smart and googly! Just leave your caption(s) in the comments here or on my Instagram page—I’ll be reviewing entries on both sites to find the winner, who will get a $20 GIFT CARD FROM OUR BIZARRO SHOP!  I also invite you to follow my cartoon page on Instagram and also my fine art page on Instagram.  Until Sunday, be smart, be nice, be happy, (be funny!) and resist ignorance and fascism.

    Bizarro Jazz Pickle T-shirt

I often hear from readers that they “get” Bizarro cartoons when some around them do not. What better way to lord your superior intellect and sense of humor over the troglodytes around you than by wearing a highly groovy T-shirt that they won’t get either? Here’s a stupid picture of me in the shirt, on sale ONLY UNTIL JULY 13, 2016!  Grab one now before the philistines and boors take over the world and outlaw intelligent humor. PLUS!  All proceeds from the shirt go to feeding me and my small family (a woman, a dog, a cat) so it’s practically a charity thing! Go here to view the various styles and colors to choose from. We here at Rancho Bizarro will thank you!

    New Bizarro T-Shirt!

Hey, Jazz Pickles! If you’re as disgusted by the behavior of some politicians as anyone not currently unconscious is, you might like this comic on a shirt. And if that’s the case, the link below will fix you up real good. There are four kinds and several colors of shirts available, and the two that are more pricy than the others are because they are organic cotton. They charge more these days for not ruining the planet as much. They also now ship to locations outside of the Americas (without charging a fortune) so don’t let a European address stop you! Unlike the endless American presidential campaign, this T-shirt sale only lasts for two weeks, so click it now, click it hard.

    Bizarro AWOL

Hiya, Jazz Pickles. I’d love to be posting about the past week in Bizarro cartoons right now but my blog won’t let me upload pictures of any kind. There’s Interweb voodoo afoot and the gurus who fix this kind of thing for me won’t be back to their respective IT caves until Monday. Monday’s are busy cartoon deadline days for me so I don’t know when I’ll be able to get to it but I’ll do it as soon as I can! Thanks for your patience.
